KATSEYE‘s Sophia Laforteza has a song on the soundtrack of DreamWorks Animation’s new movie Forgotten Island, and it’s a cover of a familiar hit!

Sophia performs “Never Tear Us Apart,” originally recorded by INXS. Her version appears as a track on the official Forgotten Island soundtrack, which was released on September 18, ahead of the movie’s September 25 theatrical opening.

Back Lot Music has a listening link for the soundtrack, and you can also check it out on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and TIDAL, among other sites. Mike Elizondo is credited as a producer and Sophia is featured in the lead and background vocals.

The song is one part of a soundtrack that brings together a wide range of Filipino and Filipino American performers. BINI contributes “A Parallel World,” while SB19 performs “Mga Kababayan.” H.E.R. and Liza Soberano, who voice the film’s two leads, also sing the end-title track “BRB.”

Composer Nathan Matthew David created the movie’s original score, which features Lea Salonga on several tracks.

Forgotten Island follows longtime friends Jo and Raissa, voiced by H.E.R. and Liza, as they stumble into a world drawn from stories their Filipino families told them. Their journey becomes a race to get home before they lose their memories of each other.

Sophia‘s soundtrack appearance also comes during a big weekend for KATSEYE. The group is scheduled to make its musical-guest debut on tonight’s Saturday Night Live season 52 premiere.
