Robin Bailey's long-awaited return to Brisbane breakfast radio may come with a surprising sting in the tail.

Just days after Australian Radio Network confirmed the popular presenter would be reinstated to KIIS 97.3's breakfast slot in 2026, fresh speculation has emerged suggesting Bailey could soon disappear from the airwaves.

According to a report by Courier Mail, the 45-year-old is expected to travel to South Africa to appear on  the upcoming season of I'm A Celebrity.

The hit reality series is hosted by Robert Irwin and Julia Morris, with filming typically taking place across several weeks.

ARN confirmed earlier this week that Bailey will return to KIIS 97.3 alongside co-hosts Kip Wightman and Corey Oates, after the trio were abruptly axed in October and replaced by Craig 'Lowie' Low.

The decision followed intense listener backlash and strong audience engagement, forcing the network into an extraordinary reversal.

Insiders told the Courier-Mail that Bailey's rumoured jungle stint makes sense, particularly given Wightman and Oates quickly pivoted to new ventures when they believed their radio careers were over.

The pair announced a new podcast, The Unofficial Broncos Podcast with Sammy, Oatsey and Kip, produced by Podshape, while Bailey appeared to have no major on-air projects locked in at the time.

Speculation around Bailey's casting intensified after I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! teased an incoming contestant described as a 'Radio Queen,' accompanied by a string of flamingo-themed clues ahead of the January 18 launch.

Fans were quick to connect the dots, with Bailey recently announcing her memoir Flamingos Aren't Born Pink.

This year's line-up is also tipped to include a Hollywood sitcom star, an international supermodel, a rugby league Romeo and soap royalty, alongside a master chef, an AFL A-lister, a Logie-winning actor, a reality TV bad boy, a jungle princess, a stand-up comedian and a '90s pop star.

Hosts Robert Irwin and Julia Morris have teased that the Hollywood sitcom star will 'go off with a big bang,' prompting fans to suggest a Big Bang Theory alum such as Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco or Johnny Galecki. Others believe it could be Matt LeBlanc or Brady Bunch icon Barry Williams.

The international supermodel is reportedly linked to rock royalty, with Tyra Banks, Kelly Osbourne and Rachel Hunter all tipped.

Rugby league fans are backing former Canberra Raider and Bachelor alum Luke Bateman, while Neighbours icons Jackie Woodburne, Rebekah Elmaloglou and Bonnie Anderson are leading guesses for the soap star.

Former I'm A Celebrity contestant Brendan Fevola has added fuel to the fire, claiming Kelly Osbourne is '100 per cent' locked in, while also naming George Calombaris, Samuel Johnson and Dyson Heppell as likely campmates.

Daily Mail also exclusively revealed one of the biggest casting coups of the season – 'bridezilla' Cyrell Paule is heading into the jungle.

Channel 10 also teased that a MAFS bride would be joining the cast, sparking widespread speculation among fans.

Now insiders have confirmed the mother-of-one, who rose to fame on the 2019 season of MAFS, has signed on the dotted line.
