What Is Bottom Surgery?

We have the definition from the Mayo Clinic.

They added, “Feminizing surgery, also called gender-affirming surgery, involves procedures that help better align the body with a person’s gender identity. Research has found that gender-affirming surgery can have a positive impact on well-being and sexual function.”

They add that bottom surgery can involve the removal of sexual organs and the creation of new organs.

Hunter Schafer Spoke Out About Her Surgery in a Candid Moment

During the interview, Hunter shared with Elle, “I feel like that’s the magical thing about queerness. On an ideological level, it’s about possibility and expansion and growth, and being on that journey and finding yourself….I’m a woman. I’m a girl.”

Elle noticed that she “wrestled with queerness as an idea and philosophy” “versus how it applies and works in real life, in the context of the world that we’re living in.” Hunter added, “I feel like there’s always a tension there.”

Hunter then offered her candid admission about her gender affirming care: “Maybe it’s a good thing to share, for the tension I was talking about between those two worlds [reality and ideology]. I just had bottom surgery in December, which was amazing, and I love it so much.”

She previously opened up about why she turned down trans roles.
