While Netflix’s hit sci-fi drama series, Alice in Borderland, just returned for Season 3 after a three-year gap, talks about a potential fourth installment have already started making the rounds. In a recent interview, actors Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya, who portray the leading characters of Arisu and Usagi in the series, shed light on the show’s future while also sharing possible plot points for a possible fourth season.

Tao Tsuchiya describes storyline that Alice in Borderland can explore after Season 3

Both Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya expressed interest in returning to the Alice in Borderland franchise if the show were to continue after Season 3. The latter even laid out character arcs that future installments of the series can touch upon. Moreover, she labeled the prospect as “really interesting.”

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Yamazaki started off by extending his appreciation for the Netflix series. He stated, “I am a fan of the show myself, and to be able to make season three comes with a bit of pressure as well, because it’s so beloved by the global audience.” The Kingdom star then added, “Of course, if it’s going to continue in some way, I’ll be very much keen to be part of that.”

On the other hand, Tsuchiya noted that Netflix’s decision to renew Alice in Borderland for Season 3 was extremely surprising for her. “When season two wrapped up, I felt like that was a great way to finish the story, so I was kind of surprised when they presented season three to me,” she said.

However, after learning about the events that take place in the third season, Tao Tsuchiya believes there is enough room for a follow-up installment.

“Thinking ahead, obviously, in this season, which you haven’t seen yet, [Usagi is] pregnant, so there’s going to be a child in the future, and she would love to see that child return [to the normal world], not just the two lead characters. The story is set to be familial, I think that could be really interesting,” the Rurouni Kenshin star explained.

Meanwhile, Alice in Borderland Season 3 will premiere on Netflix on September 25, 2025.
