Zendaya appears to be taking a break from social media!

The actress celebrated her 30th birthday on Tuesday (September 1), and her mom Claire Stoermer marked the milestone by sharing an adorable throwback photo of her daughter.

In Claire‘s birthday message, she revealed that Zendaya is apparently no longer keeping up with social media.

“happy 30th birthday to the love and light of my life!! even tho you’re not on socials anymore, and you won’t see this!! we just got off facetime!” she captioned the post, which included a pic of little Zendaya in a floral dress.

However, there is a birthday post on the Euphoria star’s official Instagram page, but it’s possible it was posted by someone on her team and not her directly.

Her post reads, “I can’t thank ya’ll enough for making the last year of my twenties so beautiful, I have so much to be grateful for and so much to look forward to, with love as always….here’s to 30!!!!”

Before that, she hadn’t posted since July 8 when she shared the trailer for Dune: Part Three.

Zendaya has previously talked about pulling back from Instagram. During a 2024 Vogue interview with Serena Williams, she said she took a break because the platform made her feel “very unhappy and anxious.”

Her birthday comes after a particularly eventful year. Zendaya starred in The Drama, The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and she’ll next return as Chani in Dune: Part Three. She also quietly married longtime love Tom Holland earlier this year.
