John Boyega has revealed he is married!

The 34-year-old Star Wars: The Force Awakens star dropped the big news in a recent interview with The Guardian.

In the profile piece, the interviewer notes that they had one final question, asking about his jewelry and pointing to his left hand.

“Oh yeah, this is my wedding ring,” John responded. “I’ve been married for coming up to two years now.”

The actor said they had a small ceremony and joked he got married the same way Braveheart did.

After the interview said the ring was different than the one he wears int he documentary, Damilola: The Untold Story, John shared that the one he was wearing had a special meaning.

“Yeah, this is our very sentimental ring,” the actor said. “This is the one we decided to pick up spontaneously because I just wanted the ring on my finger, so we went to Walmart to get this. It was a lovely trip to Walmart.”

“I would love to have a wedding celebration,” he added. “We both like the idea of celebrating something established, rather than celebrating the entry. And by then, we’ll have to shut Nigeria down!”

Plus, John revealed they are expecting their first child together!

“My baby’s on the way. We got a baby cooking,” he dished, while adding he also has a stepson. “So, you know, my life is completely, completely fulfilled in terms of family. It’s been so nice with the timing.”

While John didn’t share any details about who is wife is, fans have uncovered her identity thanks to his social media.

John Boyega is seemingly married to Tae Heckard!

John‘s wife appears to be actress Tae Heckard, and a big clue to her identity is that they are both the only person they follow on each of their Instagram accounts.

In a September 22, 2026 post, Tae included a photo of her reflection in a zoomed in photo of John‘s face and sunglasses.

He also commented on the post, writing, “So this is why you cook Pounded yam and egusi on Saturdays?? a tactical weapon of mass plan-canceling. I’m onto you lover.”

She replied, “baba…..u feel the same way until summer rolls around….then i have no choice but to be outside on any given day,” to which he responded, “you are right”

Her name on her account is also listed as Tae Boyega.

Remember when he mentioned buying a ring at Walmart? John mentioned the store in a comment on an August post of hers.

“Yes the mall has multiple stores but for some reason you always have us in Walmart for 2+ hours,” he wrote, with her responding, “cus i love watching you put all my shenannies in the cart. yum”

Who is Tae Heckard? She is also an actor and has appeared in #BlackAF and The Game as her most recent major projects. She’s also been seen in the movies ATL, Back Then, and Getting Even.

Tae was previously linked to NFL star Stefon Diggs in 2024, and prior to that, she was in a relationship with former NBA player Brandon Jennings, who she shares a son with.
