Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe Boys creator reacted after fans connected a recent Donald Trump moment to imagery already featured in the show. The showrunner shared a stunned response online as viewers pointed out another unexpected overlap between the series and real-world events.
Eric Kripke shared a side-by-side Instagram image showing both statues beside the caption, “Seriously what the f**k?” The comparison followed footage from Trump National Doral Golf Club showing a 15-foot golden Trump statue.
Fans connected the display with Homelander’s gilded statue from Episode 6, “Through the Heavens Fall.” One fan wrote on X, “You can’t make this s–t up.”
Viewers identified several similarities between recent political events and storylines from The Boys. Kripke previously discussed another parallel involving Trump’s AI-generated image portraying himself as Jesus Christ.
Homelander claimed he was God during the episode “Every One of You Sons of Bitches.” Kripke told Polygon, “I am really tired and weary of the world reflecting the show before we get a chance to do it.” He also said, “It’s just really hard to out-satire this world.”
Kripke acknowledged repeated overlaps between the series and real-world political developments. The article noted that Homelander’s ambitions intensified throughout Season 5.
Kripke explained that the production team wrote the season before the 2024 presidential election. He stated that some fictional dialogue already matched later public events. Kripke said, “There’s a line in Episode 7 that Homelander says that was the craziest line we could think of, and it’s already happened.”
Kripke previously described Homelander as a Trump surrogate character while discussing the series. The Boys will conclude with its fifth season. The finale receives a theatrical 4DX screening on May 19 before streaming on Prime Video the following day.
Trump later removed the AI-generated image after criticism from political supporters and opponents. He told reporters, “It’s supposed to be me as a doctor making people better” (via CNN).
The Boys streams exclusively on Prime Video.
