The series Sister Wives previously addressed the death of Garrison Brown, the 25-year-old son of Janelle and Kody Brown. The segment provided a detailed account from Janelle about the circumstances leading up to his passing.

Sister Wives’ Garrison’s death explained

The Brown family remains deeply affected by the devastating loss of Garrison Brown, the son of Sister Wives stars Janelle and Kody Brown, who died by suicide at the age of 25. On the May 4 episode of their TLC series, Janelle Brown opened up about the heartbreaking events that happened just before his death on March 4, 2024. 

Janelle, who had recently moved to North Carolina to be closer to her daughter Madison Brush, son-in-law Caleb, and their grandchildren, recalled that she was flying back to Flagstaff on that particular day. She shared that she had been texting with Garrison all throughout the day, which was routine for them. She said, “And this was not unusual because he and I talked probably three times a day.” (via E! Since Garrison had been facing ongoing struggles with anxiety and depression, Janelle always made it a point to stay connected with him. She shared, “I always just picked up the phone, and I always make it a point to just talk to him.” She mentioned that there was nothing out of the ordinary about their conversation.

However, that night, she noticed Garrison had stopped responding to her messages. She reached out to her other sons, Logan and Hunter, and asked them to check in. They reassured her and promised to follow up.

The next morning, she received a phone call from her son, Gabriel, informing her that he had found Garrison deceased in his home. Janelle said, “Gabriel had found him. He’s like, ‘Mom, he’s gone.’ I mean, ‘What do you mean?’ He said, ‘He’s dead. He killed himself.’”

Following the incident, Janelle and Kody Brown decided to have Garrison cremated. His final resting place is in Wyoming, on a family plot he loved. Janelle said, “He loved it there, so it felt appropriate.”
