Wegovy® (semaglutide) explained — how it works, who it’s for, dosing, weight management, side effects, serious warnings, and what to discuss with your healthcare professional. Wegovy® (semaglutide) has become one of the most discussed medications for chronic weight management. But how does it actually work inside the body — and what should you know before considering treatment? In this episode of Rehealthify Diabetes Corner, we take a closer look at Wegovy and explain how semaglutide interacts with GLP-1 receptors involved in appetite regulation, food intake, glucose regulation, and weight management. We also cover how Wegovy is used, how doses are gradually increased, what happens when treatment is missed or restarted, common side effects, serious adverse reactions, the boxed warning concerning thyroid C-cell tumors, and important questions to discuss with a qualified healthcare professional. The goal is simple: make the science easier to understand so you can have a more informed conversation about your health.
