Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayThe official Weapons runtime has been revealed for Warner Bros.’ highly anticipated supernatural horror thriller, which hails from rising horror filmmaker Zach Cregger. The movie is slated to make its debut in theaters on August 8, 2025.
Its current theatrical release will pit the film directly against Disney’s Freakier Friday at the box office. It will also be debuting in the same month as other high-profile movies like The Bad Guys 2, The Naked Gun reboot, Eden, The Toxic Avenger, and Caught Stealing.
What is the Weapons runtime?
Per the Irish Film Classification Office (IFCO), Weapons will officially have a total running time of 128 minutes or 2 hours and 8 minutes. This makes the upcoming movie 26 minutes longer than Cregger’s critically acclaimed 2022 horror movie, Barbarian, which has a runtime of an hour and 42 minutes. The cast is led by Academy Award nominee Josh Brolin and Golden Globe winner Julia Garner.
Weapons is written and directed by Cregger, who is also serving as the producer. Additional cast members include Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. It is produced by Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, J.D. Lifshitz, and Raphael Margules, with Michelle Morrissey and Josh Brolin set as executive producers.
When the project was first announced, it was described as “an interrelated, multistory horror epic” that is tonally being likened to Paul Thomas Anderson’s 1999 film Magnolia. The filmmaker’s creative team behind the camera includes director of photography Larkin Seiple, production designer Tom Hammock, editor Joe Murphy, and costume designer Trish Sommerville. The music is by Ryan Holladay, Hays Holladay, and Cregger.
