Matthew McConaughey is putting his musical talents on display in his new movie The Rivals of Amziah King!

A clip of the Oscar-winning actor performing the song “Quill” has been released ahead of the movie hitting theaters on August 14.

Set within the deep backwoods of rural Oklahoma, the film follows the charismatic and musically gifted Amaziah King (McConaughey) who herds a bluegrass-playing band of misfits while overseeing the premier honey-making operation in town. When Amaziah’s estranged foster daughter unexpectedly returns, he leaps at the possibility to renew connection and creating a family business. But the honey game is ruthless, and Amaziah’s rivals threaten to destroy everything he has built.

Joining Matthew in the performance are Ben Hardesty with Miranda Zickler, Angelina Looking Glass and Andrea Pister.

You can find the song on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Deezer, Tidal, Soundcloud, and YouTube Music!

The Rivals of Amziah King had its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival earlier this year. Black Bear Pictures is releasing the film in limited theaters on August 14 ahead of a wider release on August 21.

The movie currently has glowing reviews, with a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Also starring are Kurt Russell, Cole Sprouse, Tony Revolori, and Rob Morgan.
