Vin Diesel talked about Paul Walker at The Fast and the Furious 25th anniversary celebration at Cannes. Walker played the role of Brian O’Conner in the franchise, who challenged Diesel’s Dominic “Dom” Toretto. “I can’t even believe you want to see me f**king cry,” expressed Diesel while giving a heartwarming speech. He further added, “I pray that in your life you have a brother like Paul… It wasn’t on the script at first that this blond-haired, blue-eyed guy would be a brother to me.”

The 58-year-old continued, “After every premiere, he’d sit with me – no one else could be around. He didn’t want to be around anyone else.” Diesel noted, “He just would walk off with me and whisper into my ear, ‘the best one’s still in the can.” Moreover, he said, “I pray that in your life you have a brother like Paul…”

The award-winning actor also recalled how Walker told him about his one-year-old daughter. “This is a film where brotherhood was introduced to our millennium, by myself and my brother Pablo,” he explained. As such, Diesel turned his attention to his late friend’s daughter, Meadow Walker, and the two shared a warm hug. “And the person that was not going to let me come alone here to represent that brotherhood is Meadow Walker,” he shared.

The father of three revealed what Meadow told him before the event. “She said, ‘I’m 27, and I’m watching this film that my father made at 27,’ and I thought, ‘How profound,'” Diesel stated. He continued, “If I have anything I can say to all of you, it’s that Meadow has been such a source of strength, and I know he’d be so proud of you.”
