Usher is issuing a warning to his fans and any future concert-goers planning to attend his shows.

On Tuesday (July 28), Usher, 47, paused to address the crowd during his show in Birmingham, Ala., one of his stops on his co-headlining tour with Chris Brown.

“Before we get started, don’t bring your ass up here if you don’t wanna be here,” Usher told the audience (via People). “God don’t like ugly. But most certainly doesn’t feel too good about pretty privilege either!”

His comments appeared to stem from a recent situation when he brought a fan on stage during a Nashville show and she appeared uncomfortable. Their interaction went viral online.

The fan in question, Gabrielle Cheyenne, spoke with TMZ about the incident and said she was actually there for Chris Brown.

“I was approached first and upgraded to VIP. They don’t give you any instructions on who, what, when, where, or how,” she said. “They told me that it was a possibility of me going on stage, but they didn’t confirm that until it was closer to time for me to go on stage. Of course, you’re getting to go on stage, why would I decline that?”

She continued, “Me, solely, I went to the concert for Chris Brown. It’s nothing against Usher. I’m more of a Chris Brown fan than I am of Usher. Of course, it would’ve been a different reaction with Chris Brown; it wouldn’t have been the stiffness or whatever the internet is portraying.”
