Toy Story 5’s latest earnings show its strong theatrical run. Box Office Mojo’s 2026 worldwide rankings place the sequel at No. 3, putting it behind only The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Michael while keeping it firmly in contention for the coveted $1 billion milestone. The film has earned more than $750 million worldwide against a reported production budget of about $250 million.

Directed by Andrew Stanton and McKenna Harris, Toy Story 5 brings back many familiar voices. The cast includes Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, and several returning franchise favorites. The story follows the beloved toys as they face a new challenge in a world where children’s attention is increasingly dominated by modern technology, in this case, a tablet named Lilypad.

Critics and audiences have largely responded well to the latest installment. Toy Story 5 holds an IMDb rating of 7.6/10 and a Rotten Tomatoes critics’ score of about 92%. Toy Story 3 received another 98%-plus critics’ score and an IMDb rating of 8.3, and Toy Story 4 continued the streak with a Rotten Tomatoes score above 97% and another highly rated IMDb score of 7.6
