Tim Davies of Nine Network‘s Today received an emotional farewell before making his final weather report. He sat in a party bus, dubbed “Dickie’s Taxi,” and was celebrated for his seven years on the show. There was also a surprise appearance as Davies reflected on his journey and said that he was now ready for a change.

While celebrating his farewell on the bus, Ally Langdon appeared to ask Davies whether he really wanted to exit the show. He replied, “I have been everywhere and have done everything, and I’ve done it with the best people, as you can see. I just don’t know how you top it. I don’t know how you get any better.” He added that he is now looking forward to a change and that he’s happy that he’s leaving the show on a high note. Throughout his final day, he was met by the show’s crew and guests, who gave him gifts and shared kind words.

“I just want to say one of the hardest things in life is to be your true, authentic self. And I want to say thank you to our audience for accepting me and allowing me just to be me every half-hour. The craziness that comes along with all of that, and it’s been fun. And thank you for being you, the kind, caring, and cheeky viewers that you are,” Davies said before officially bidding adieu to the show.

Last month, Davies announced that he’s leaving the program. During the announcement, which he made on Today, he told viewers, “I was always taught that television is there to inform and entertain, and that’s what I’ve always wanted my time in this segment to do, and I feel like I’ve achieved that.”
