A new character is coming to Super Evil Megacorp’s award-winning roguelike brawler, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, alongside a free update that brings new modes, biomes, and more.

What new character is coming to TMNT: Splintered Fate?

On September 30, 2025, fans of the game will be able to pick up Metalhead, who joins as the newest playable character via paid DLC. Metalhead is Splintered Fate’s first full-ranged hero, and comes armed with a laser gun, explosive landmines, and also five new artifacts to add increased variety during runs.

Alongside the DLC in a separate, free update, Splintered Fate is also getting a ton of new improvements. These include things like audio and visual upgrades and, most notably, the game’s new Arcade Mode, a fast-paced and unpredictable mode that lets players experience unique challenges to test their skills. The new mode includes a new “Hex and Flex” system, as well as three new biomes to play in, a new enemy type, and more, including:

• Hex and Flex system offering major variety (and plenty of chaos) to each run
• A fast-paced and accessible mode, perfect for quick sessions solo or with friends
• Three new biomes that twist reality inside out: the Spectral Sewers, Astral Ship, and Manic Metropolis
• An all-new Wraith enemy set with multiple variants: multi-limbed beings that fire homing projectiles and teleport for added chaos
• Enemy Invasion: The realm reshapes battles in unexpected ways, creating unpredictable enemy combinations

Splintered Fate’s new content arrives on September 30, 2025, for all digital and physical platforms. The game is also going physical, with a Deluxe Edition available on the Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One, on the same date. A Collector’s Edition of the game is set to also release on October 24, 2025.
