It is revealed at the end of Season 2 that Jacob wishes to amass higher government power by installing Hagen as President.

Peter is given this mission by his handler, Catherine, following his arrest for all the crimes he committed against the FBI during the season. These include stealing confidential, sensitive information from the UN and handing it over to Jacob. This mission is incredibly top secret, as even other Night Agents are unaware of it.

Here, he revealed that the third season would have the “strongest opening” of all the seasons. He added that fans can expect to see some unbelievable stunt scenes.
