The Garfield Movie 2 is officially in the works, and Sony Pictures has revealed Chris Pratt’s status in the upcoming sequel.

What do we know about The Garfield Movie 2?

Sony Pictures announced that Pratt will return to voice the titular role of Garfield the cat in the planned sequel. Pratt starred in the original as well, which grossed over $260 million worldwide when it released in 2024.

Currently, the sequel remains in the early development stages, with Sony Pictures currently in talks with potential writers and directors.

Further casting also hasn’t been announced yet, so it’s unclear if any other actors will return to the movie. Alongside Pratt, The Garfield Movie starred Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillen, Brett Goldstein, Bowen Yang, and Snoop Dogg. The first movie was directed by Mark Dindal from a screenplay co-written by Paul A. Kaplan, Mark Torgove, and David Reynolds.
