The production has begun early work in Liverpool, England. The GCPD cruiser currently sits outside St George’s Hall, where the original film’s funeral scene was shot. Additional behind-the-scenes set photos also emerged from users on X.
Fans also spotted The Batman Part 2 logo on an Alexa265 camera at the filming location. Users first shared the image, and DC Film News confirmed the sighting shortly after. The camera logo reveal suggests principal photography draws closer for Matt Reeves’ sequel.
Filming is reportedly scheduled for tonight and tonight only at the Liverpool location. The bulk of scenes will reportedly take place in Liverpool’s Birkenhead Tunnel. Sources indicate that no cast members or the Batmobile will appear during tonight’s shoot.
Story details remain tightly guarded, but the winter setting has fueled Mr. Freeze speculation. Reports from the trades indicate the sequel will spotlight the Dent family, including Harvey, his wife Gilda, and his father Christopher. Two-Face, Hush, the Halloween Killer, and Phantasm remain potential costumed villains for the film.
Recent rumblings suggest Sebastian Stan may not portray Two-Face in the sequel. Directed by Matt Reeves from a script co-written with Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson and Scarlett Johansson. Sebastian Stan, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, and Charles Dance also star. Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, Sebastian Koch, and Brian Tyree Henry round out the cast.
The Batman Part 2 opens in theaters on October 1, 2027.
