Conan O’Brien’s Cheeky Reaction to Hosting the 2025 Oscars

And here are the nominees…

After the Los Angeles wildfires delayed the initial date set for the 2025 Oscar nominations announcement, Saturday Night Live’s Bowen Yang and Bottoms star Rachel Sennott revealed who will be honored across 23 categories in a Jan. 23 livestream telecast.

The 97th Academy Awards ceremony, which will be hosted by Conan O’Brien, is set to honor films like A Real Pain, The Brutalist, Wicked and more. Plus, Bowen and Rachel proved their comedic chops amid the nominations announcement by complimenting each other on their pronunciation of the year's most popular films.

The 2025 Oscar nominations come amid a difficult time for Hollywood. Earlier this month, the Los Angeles wildfires devastated much of the California city—including the home of Billy Crystal, who hosted the Oscars in 1988 and 1998. At the time, the Academy issued a statement reflecting on those who had been affected by the devastation.

“The Academy’s thoughts and deepest condolences are with those who have been impacted by the Los Angeles-area wildfires,” the Academy said in a Jan. 10 statement. “We stand united with the Motion Picture Television Fund to support our industry.”

The organization concluded their post by offering a list of relief resources, and asking the public to donate what they can to those in need

Each year, the Oscars honor the best performances across the big screen. In 2024, Emma Stone and Cillian Murphy nabbed some of the night’s biggest honors for Actress in a Leading Role and Actor in a Leading Role. Meanwhile, Oppenheimer made it onto the shortlist of the most decorated movies of all time by winning seven awards at the ceremony. (The most awarded films include 2003’s Lord of The Rings: Return of the King, 1997’s Titanic, and 1959’s Ben-Hur, all with 11 awards, respectively.)

And while film lovers will have to wait until the March 3 ceremony to see who brings home the night’s biggest honors, as the saying goes, it is certainly an honor just to be nominated. Keep reading for every star who received the accolade…
