Hailey Bieber‘s father, Stephen Baldwin, has reacted to his daughter selling her skincare company, Rhode, which she founded in 2022, to e.l.f. Beauty for $1 billion. Baldwin also shared an interesting fact about his daughter’s business career. Since launching the skincare company three years ago, Bieber has frequently updated fans on social media about their newest product launches and ventures.

Stephen Baldwin calls Hailey Bieber ‘Super Smart’ amid Rhode deal

In a recent appearance on The Adam Carolla Show, Stephen Baldwin revealed that it took Hailey Bieber “three years” to form Rhode.

“What, did you think that was just some rotten tomatoes journey?” he jokingly added. The Usual Suspects star praised Bieber’s business acumen, calling her “super smart.” He noted that the 28-year-old first found success as a model before she started focusing on her current ventures. Baldwin added that Bieber received an offer “to do something pretty big and cool” involving cosmetics a few years ago, but declined the offer.

He shared that the socialite aimed to create a product she wanted to personally use. “The reason it’s succeeding is people are responding to it,” the Threesome actor added. “It actually works in hydration and all of that.”

Baldwin later stated that he doesn’t interfere with his daughters’ careers, adding, “If they want to throw a boomerang at me, I’ll call them back.” Besides Hailey, Baldwin has fathered Alaia, who is also a model. He also expressed his pride in their marriage to successful men.

Moreover, Baldwin said that his daughters’ success did not change their familial dynamic.

“The sweet part of my kids, too, is, in the wake of whatever their success is, their dad remains the same,” he said. “I’ve always been the same way. You know you’re going to tell your daughter the truth.”

Bieber revealed on Instagram at the time of Rhode’s sale to e.l.f. Beauty that she became the former’s Chief Creative Officer and Head of Innovation, as well as the latter’s strategic advisor.
