SS Rajamouli, the director of the epic movie RRR, is preparing his follow-up movie and it’s destined to be a major event for movie theaters around the world!

The upcoming film Varanasi has set a global release date of April 7, 2027.

The epic story of Varanasi takes place over thousands of years and in locations around the world from Antarctica to Africa to the titular city in India.

Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran star in the movie, which will feature music from composer MM Keeravani, who won an Oscar for RRR’s “Naatu Naatu” song.

RRR was released in 2022 and grossed $166 million worldwide. It was nominated for five awards at the Critics’ Choice Awards in 2023, including Best Picture and Best Director.
