A new batch of Spider-Man: Brand New Day merchandise may have spoiled one of its villain twists. The upcoming film will see Spider-Man face off against multiple villains from the comics and possibly a familiar face.

What does the Spider-Man: Brand New Day merch potentially reveal about the movie’s villains?

Some new Spider-Man: Brand New Day t-shirts have been unveiled. The merch highlights the villains Spider-Man will be fighting in the movie: Tarantula, Boomerang, Scorpion, and Hulk. However, one noticeable absentee from the merch is Sadie Sink.

While this may be an effort to hide who Sink is playing, her absence from the merch suggests she may not actually be a bad guy after all, although this is speculative. Fans still don’t know who she’s playing, though, as Marvel is continuing to not say a word about the topic. The first reports about the film’s casting pointed to Sink playing the MCU’s version of Jean Grey. However, recent rumors suggest that it may be a misdirect.

The first Brand New Day teaser gave fans a glimpse of Spidey in action against these foes. However, footage of Spider-Man’s battle with a savage Hulk has not yet been revealed. It’s likely that the battle will be teased in the film’s next trailer. Hulk going against Spider-Man has already been teased by other merchandise.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will pick up after the events of No Way Home, with Peter Parker leading a solitary life as New York’s masked hero. The trailer suggests that the toll may be too heavy on the hero, leading to various psychological issues.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo, and Jon Bernthal. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who helmed 2021’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
