Spider-Man: Brand New Day is officially making history.

The latest Marvel movie featuring Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man just beat the record set by 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, pulling in $360 million in its opening weekend, making history as the best opening weekend of all time at the domestic box office, per TheWrap.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Makes Box Office History

Avengers: Endgame previously held the record with a $357 million opening, which broke the record set by 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War at $100 million.

“360 million thank-yous to all the filmmakers, actors, producers, and to my colleagues at Sony, who created such a fantastic film and an exceptional marketing and distribution campaign. Records are made to be broken, but we will take great pride in this one, for as long as we hold it,” Sony’s Tom Rothman said in a statement.

How Much Did ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Make Worldwide?

It brought in $932 million globally in its first weekend, falling just behind the $1.22 billion opening of Avengers: Endgame. At this rate, with positive reviews among critics and audiences alike, it’s predicted to become the eighth film in history to pass $2 billion worldwide.

Casual fans and die-hard MCU experts all know that each and every Marvel movie has at least one end credits scene…and Brand New Day did not break from that tradition.

However, the end credits scene is open to interpretation, and some fans are confused.

What is the new Spider-Man movie about?

Here’s the official synopsis:

It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.
