The concerts featured performances from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone as well as Primus and Ween, two famously quirky alternative rock bands that claim a long relationship with the award-winning, subversive, culture-shifting animated series. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush, who made a special guest appearance at the shows, will also feature on the album.

Primus composed and performed the South Park theme, and their music has been featured multiple times on the show. Ween performed their song “The Rainbow” in the Season Two episode “Chef Aid” and appeared on Chef Aid: The South Park Album, which also featured Primus. Parker and Stone directed Ween’s “Even if You Don’t” music video, and Parker and Stone’s band DVDA has opened for multiple Ween shows. Rush appeared in the Season 15 episode “Royal Pudding,” performing a song called “Like A Fart In The Wind.”

At Red Rocks, in addition to performing some of their own material, Primus and Ween backed up Parker and Stone on a number of memorable South Park songs such as “Unclefucker” and “What Would Brian Boitano Do?” They also worked in tunes from the feature film South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, including “Blame Canada,” and songs from Parker and Stone’s other projects such as Team America: World Police and Cannibal! The Musical. Lee and Lifeson took the stage for a special performance of “Closer To The Heart.”

The 25th anniversary concert album was previously released as a limited edition Record Store Day exclusive in 2024. Pressed on “Towlie Blue” vinyl, it sold out instantly. This wide release of the album will be available at all retailers and will be pressed on black vinyl.
