Jimmy Kimmel has shared a new Instagram post, trolling Mitch McConnell’s latest health update. The US senator’s office released a second statement on July 27, confirming that he had been discharged from the hospital. The statement was accompanied by a photo of McConnell with his wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.

Poking fun at the update, Kimmel shared the same photo on Instagram, photoshopping his own face on top of Chao’s. He captioned the post, “For those asking, Mitch and I are feeling better, stronger, sexier and still technically alive every day!”

In his latest health update, McConnell said, “I’m still working hard to get back to my full schedule of work in the Senate and in Kentucky, keeping up with intense physical therapy per my doctors’ orders. Unfortunately, that means I won’t be able to make it to Fancy Farm, Kentucky this Saturday.”

Doctors have not yet medically cleared him to resume his duties. Meanwhile, McConnell’s office has not provided a timeline for his return to the Senate as he remains at a rehabilitation center.

Along with McConnell’s statement, his office also shared a note from the Office of the Attending Physician (OAP). “Senator McConnell continues his recovery from a fall at home in June,” it reads, adding that OAP physicians make regular visits to the senator to discuss “all aspects of his rehabilitation care.”

Kimmel had previously trolled McConnell’s first official health update on July 12 with an Instagram post. The late-night host posted a reimagined proof-of-life photo of the senator, photoshopping himself into the hospital bed with Chao standing next to him. “For those who’ve been asking, I’m feeling great,” he penned in the caption.
