Scott Eastwood has finally addressed retirement rumors about his father, Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood. The speculation began after his older brother, musician Kyle Eastwood, made comments last year. After that, fans were questioning whether the 96-year-old had stepped away.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Scott Eastwood revealed whether his father, Clint Eastwood, who recently turned 96 on May 31, has retired from filmmaking and acting.

“We’ll see. I have not heard that from his mouth at all,” the actor shared. “So I don’t know what that feels like. His career in general has been something to admire, something to be inspired by, and continues to inspire me. The work, the artistry that he’s done on and off screen. Producing, writing, composing, directing, acting. The body of work is incredible.”

His statement offered relief for the fans. The rumors began after a video from last year resurfaced online. It was shot at the Maison de la Culture in France in November 2025, where Kyle Eastwood performed. While speaking about his father in an interview at the event, Kyle had said, “Now he’s retired. He’s 95 years old. But I was very lucky to be able to work with him on quite a few films. It was a great experience for me.”

When the video resurfaced, it surprised the filmmaker’s fans, as he never officially announced a retirement. However, it appears that fans might not have seen the last of him. The Unforgiven star’s last directorial was Jury #2 in 2024, and his last on-screen appearance was in Cry Macho in 2021.

Clint Eastwood has one of the longest and most influential careers in Hollywood’s history. His first credited on-screen appearance was in a 1955 film, Francis in the Navy. He gained fame as Rowdy Yates in the TV series Rawhide between 1959 and 1965. He later became an international star playing the “Man with No Name” in A Fistful of Dollars and its sequels. The veteran also began his directorial venture with Play Misty for Me, a psychological thriller, in 1971.

Since then, he has appeared in more than 60 projects and helmed 45 titles. The filmmaker also earned 12 Oscar nominations in his career, winning four.
