While co-hosting Today with Jenna & Friends, Johansson was surprised by Mahomes’s quick return to the spotlight. The star shared her own candid thoughts on the challenges of postpartum recovery.

Scarlett Johansson recently shared her thoughts on Brittany Mahomes’ remarkable postpartum recovery, after seeing Mahomes attending a Chiefs game just days after giving birth. Appearing on Today with Jenna & Friends on January 21, Johansson was visibly shocked when she saw a photo of Mahomes at a playoff game only six days after delivering her third child, Golden. Johansson asked in disbelief, “How is she upright?”

Jenna Bush Hager, who was co-hosting with Johansson, explained that Mahomes had credited her glam squad for helping her “feel human again” in an Instagram Story from the day of the game. When Hager turned the conversation to Johansson’s own postpartum experience, the Black Widow star responded by humorously recalling her own postpartum days. She admitted to having “a giant Guinness and a huge bowl of puffed Cheetos” six days after giving birth while feeling overwhelmed and uncertain. She laughed and said, “I was staring into the abyss, like, ‘What have I done?’”

Hager also opened up about her emotional struggles after giving birth. She revealed that hormone imbalances led her to feel overwhelmed and “crying in a ball” at times. Johansson, in a lighthearted tone, recalled the physical challenges of being a new mom, mentioning how she got tennis elbow from holding her baby in the same position for too long. 

Both women mentioned that they couldn’t help but admire Mahomes. Hager said, “But you know what? Brittany Mahomes was fine.” Brittany and Patrick Mahomes, who are already parents to two children, Sterling Skye and Patrick “Bronze” Mahomes III, welcomed Golden Raye Mahomes in early January.
