Sabrina Carpenter is currently touring across Europe, bringing her Short & Sweet show across the pond and enjoying a little sightseeing in the process. And while she hits the stage in her now-signature blonde bombshell curls night after night, Carpenter gave the curling iron a break in favor a low-key half-updo in her downtime.

Carpenter looked every inch the retro Italian film heroine on a short (and probably sweet) vacation in Italy, wearing her natural waves blown out and curled under—not the swoops and swirls we usually see her in, but a softer, straighter version with just a hint of curl. She then pulled half of her hair up and pinned it right at the crown, with her much-copied curtain bangs framing either side of face with light, fluttery romantic texture. All of the elements of what we think of as the “Sabrina Carpenter look" are there, including the bright pink blush and pinky-nude lip, they're just a little more relaxed! Basically, it's the perfect hairstyle for living la dolce vita on a boat with your pals, even if you're not touring the Amalfi Coast.

The waves did make a cameo in her vacation photo album, showing up in a few different shots. In the first one, Carpenter wears them pulled up with what may just be the biggest claw clip I've ever seen in my life, an epically oversized black clip that added a bold contrast to her light blonde hair. Her waves show up again in a selfie where she wears a sheer dress (Alexa, play “Bed Chem”) and no makeup, her freckles peeking out and her nails short and nearly bare. I already wanted a vacation in the worst way, but after seeing these photos, it's an absolute must—and I already know how I'll be wearing my hair.
