Amazon has officially set the Red One 4K & Blu-ray release date, revealing when fans can bring home the Dwayne Johnson-led Christmas movie.

When is the Red One 4K & Blu-ray release date?

Red One is set to release on 4K & Blu-ray on March 4, 2025, and will be available to purchase on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD, for those looking to pick up the film in physical form. No official special features were listed for the movie, so it’s unclear whether or not the movie will feature anything besides some of the more standard basics.

“After Santa Claus – Code Name: RED ONE – is kidnapped, the North Pole’s Head of Security must team up with the world’s most infamous bounty hunter in a globe-trotting, action-packed mission to save Christmas,” reads the film’s official synopsis.

The film was directed and produced by Jake Kasdan, who reunited with Johnson after previously working together on Sony Pictures’ blockbuster Jumanji films. It was also written by Fast and Furious’ Chris Morgan, based on a story conceived by Hiram Garcia. Joining Johnson and Evans are J.K. Simmons as Santa Claus, Lucy Liu as Zoe Harlow, Kiernan Shipka as Gryla, Kristofer Hivju as Krampus, Nick Kroll as Ted, Mary Elizabeth Ellis as Olivia, Wesley Kimmel as Dylan, and more. It was produced by Morgan, Melvin Mar, and Sky Salem Robinson, along with Johnson, Hiram Garcia, and Dany Garcia for Seven Bucks Productions.

Despite its star-studded cast, the film wasn’t able to capture the attention of critics and audiences during its theatrical run. It only earned a worldwide gross of over $160 million against a reported budget of around $200-$250 million.

However, the film was a massive success on Prime Video, becoming its most-watched movie after its debut on the streaming service last month.
