Based on the manga by Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui, the anime revolves around a fighting tournament that takes place between gods and numerous historical figures. Despite being the adaptation of a hit manga, Record of Ragnarok has received criticism for its animation in the past. However, it has gained immense popularity on Netflix.
Record of Ragnarok Season 3 teaser trailer confirms Netflix release date window
The official teaser of Record of Ragnarok Season 3 was showcased at the recent Anime Expo by Netflix and Warner Bros. Japan. The trailer shared a glimpse of the upcoming rounds of the fighting contest, generating hype among fans. According to the trailer, Record of Ragnarok Season 3 is slated for release in December 2025.
Apart from the fights from rounds 7 to 9, the trailer also offers glimpses of the characters that will appear. Fans can catch a fresh look at Qin Shi Huang VS Hades, Nikola Tesla vs. Beelzebub, and King Leonidas vs. Sun God Apollo. Furthermore, the anime will kick off with the 7th bout to break the 3-3 between the Gods and humans.
The description of the trailer states that the third season will “witness the fateful seventh fight to break the 3-3 tie in Ragnarok: the final battle between the gods and humans. Blood flows and fists fly in these intense battles of strong convictions!”
After the second season’s release in 2023, Season 3 will also air on Netflix. The upcoming installment is directed by Koichi Hatsumi. While speaking to Netflix following the announcement of Season 3 in March, Fukui expressed his gratitude toward the fans. He further stated that he cannot wait for fans to witness the epic “continuation of the battle between gods and humanity!”
