One of the breakout stars of Obsession has joined the cast of a popular Marvel TV show. The series, which premiered in March 2024, is scheduled to release its second season this summer on Disney+.

X-Men ’97 Season 2 will be released on July 1, 2026. The voice cast of the show’s next chapter, which will be nine episodes long, includes Ross Marquand as Professor X, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Lenore Zann as Rogue, and George Buza as Beast.

On Instagram, actor Michael Johnston has announced that he’ll be voicing Nathan Summers in the second season of Marvel Animation’s X-Men ’97.

Johnston played Baron “Bear” Bailey in Curry Barker’s Obsession horror movie, which is now playing in United States theaters. He appeared in a few films prior to that, including 2016’s Slash and 2018’s The Maestro, while he also portrayed Corey Bryant on the Teen Wolf TV show that ran from 2015 to 2017.

A description of X-Men ’97 Season 2’s plot reads, “X-Men ’97 Season 2 continues with the heroic mutant team of X-Men, divided and thrown across different eras in time as they struggle to navigate their return home. Meanwhile, back in the 1990s, suspicious foes and new strains of mutant intolerance are on the rise in the wake of the X-Men’s absence.”

Marvel Studios’ X-Men ’97 Season 2 premieres on Disney+ on July 1, 2026. The first season is available to watch on the streaming service at this time.

The show is executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Julia Lewald, Eric Lewald, Larry Houston, and Beau DeMayo, while the episodic directors are Emmett Yonemura and Chase Conley.
