Phoebe Bridgers stepped out at the 2026 Venice Film Festival on Saturday (September 5) and she’s gone viral for her appearance.

The 32-year-old singer attended two events, a press conference and a red carpet premiere, in support of her upcoming new movie Primetime, which also stars Robert Pattinson, Anna Faris, Skyler Gisondo, and more.

While she wore a gorgeous, floor-length sheer Alexander McQueen gown for the red carpet premiere, she wore a Gucci skirt suit for the photo call, showing off her leg hair.

Phoebe‘s unshaven legs went viral, with fans showing love to her for embracing her natural look.

“Sorry I actually might cry this is the first time I’ve seen a favourite artist of mine with her leg hair out while wearing feminine clothing like it’s the most normal thing in the world (which it should be!!) Phoebe Bridgers you are so important to me,” one fan wrote on Twitter/X.

Another wrote, “Phoebe Bridgers I may have misjudged you. Even many real lesbians won’t go out with unshaven legs”

“phoebe being the only visible person upholding the unshaven leg movement…. we need this,” a third fan shared.

While some have criticized women for showing off their natural looks, from armpit hair to leg hair, many have also come out in support of celebs and others embracing it.

One of the most famous times was when Julia Roberts showed her unshaven armpits at the 1999 premiere of Notting Hill in London.

“I waved and people saw I had armpit hair. It was a scandal,” she recalled to Vogue several years later.

What is Primetime about and who does Phoebe play?

The logline for the film is as follows: “In 2006, To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen sets out to make television history.” It is inspired by true events. Rob is playing Chris Hansen in the film.

In the movie, Phoebe plays one of the To Catch a Predator decoys.

“It was certainly super intimidating, and when Lance [Oppenheim] asked me, I was like, ‘No way,’” Phoebe said at the photo call/press conference in Venice. “But it turns out, working with incredible people actually makes it way easier. I thought I was going to wither with all of these guys. Instead, it was just like so fun and free.”

“I just trusted Lance,” she added about acting for the first time. “He made it feel like a documentary in a really fun way… I just couldn’t get over, how do you read something on a script and then act like you’re thinking of it in that moment?”
