Today, September 23, Oracle announced its new Oracle Health Oncology EHR. “Oracle Health Oncology EHR is designed to bring the patient's story together and provide personalized treatment recommendations, helping clinicians focus their time and expertise where they matter most: caring for the person in front of them," Seema Verma, EVP & GM of Oracle Health and Life Sciences, said in a statement.

According to the press release, the context-aware EHR, with embedded AI agents and clinical decision support, is expected to help care teams navigate the complexity of cancer care by delivering an intuitive, responsive experience across inpatient and outpatient settings. The AI-powered assistant for oncologists is expected to connect results, decision support, and action across the cancer care journey.

Today, at the Oracle Health and Life Sciences Summit in Orlando, Florida, Seema Verma highlighted Oracle’s investment in connecting healthcare information within and across organizations worldwide. “Oracle invites healthcare providers across the United States to join the Oracle Health Information Network, giving them a single secure connection to critical patient information across the healthcare ecosystem,” Verma said.

During the summit’s opening keynote, Verma explained that Oracle’s redesigned patient portal is EHR-agnostic. Access to data is essential to advancing healthcare science, she said. Realizing the potential of AI, Verma continued, Oracle launched its Oracle Life Sciences Data Intelligence Solution. This open data platform brings together over 130 million complete medical records and data from external partners, including claims, genomic, pathogen, and prescription data, she said. “The platform brings all of that data together and allows customers to add their own data and use new AI tools to accelerate analysis.” Data alone does not become evidence, and scientists must interpret it, Verma added.

Furthermore, Verma announced that Oracle is launching its new AI clinical trial matching agent. “Too often, the right patient never hears about the right trial.

Oracle CEO Mike Sicilia told the audience that Oracle’s new clinical automation system will come in two forms. The first is individual module-based, and the other is a new EHR. “No matter which option you pick,” he said, “the system is a single code base.” Sicilia added, “This means that the entire world can run the same cloud version. That's always self-improving. It's always compliant, and it's always secure. That's a very big difference for how systems work today.” It’s easy, he said, to add your own third-party connections and AI agents. “You can build your own applications, but you do so in a platform that is secured, that is upgraded continuously, continuously monitored, and it doesn't mean that you're creating a bunch of custom code. You're creating these agents right inside a platform, right on top of public APIs.”

In addition to debuting a new EHR portal, Sicilia mentioned the Oracle Ambulance, a transport vehicle with connected patient telemetry.
