Learn all about soils and how they function, how to assess them, and ways to build healthy soils using natural organic methods.

In this informative workshop, you’ll learn about how soil functions as a living ecosystem to support plant growth, the properties of various soils, and everything you need to know to confidently assess your soil to determine its soil type, and how to amend it naturally to build a healthy, rich and fertile soil with excellent soil structure.

No matter what level of understanding of science you may have, we explain it all in an accessible way that makes it easy for gardeners to comprehend, and enjoyable to learn. By explaining the big picture of how nature’s soil systems work, then explaining the details, it’s easy to see how everything fits together!

This is a very practical workshop, you’ll discover lots of great organic gardening techniques and methods to try out, which can significantly improve soils, increase garden productivity, and also reduce pests and diseases.

Whether you’re just getting started or have some experience and wish to learn more, this workshop is suitable for gardeners of all skill levels.

There will be a 15-minute questions & answers session at the end of the workshop. Participants are also encouraged to ask questions that are on-topic during the workshop to create a more interactive learning environment.

About the presenter

Angelo Eliades is presenter, trainer and writer in the areas of sustainable gardening and permaculture. He has a biomedical science background, has worked as a horticulturist in the garden nursery industry and as a sustainable gardening trainer over the last ten years, writes for a major Australian gardening magazine, has a demonstration food forest garden in Melbourne’s inner suburbs, and runs the educational website Deep Green Permaculturehttps://deepgreenpermaculture.com
