Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan are officially teaming up for new music!

The 23-year-old “drop dead” singer and 28-year-old “Pink Pony Club” superstar are joining forces for a new remix of Olivia‘s song “expectations,” out on Thursday (October 15).

The remix, which marks Chappell‘s first-ever feature on another artist’s song, will arrive alongside an official music video featuring both singers.

The song and video will both be released at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Thursday, according to an announcement from Interscope Records on Tuesday (October 13).

The remix was produced by Daniel Nigro, who has worked extensively with both artists. The music video is directed by Bardia Zeinali.

“expectations” originally appeared on Olivia‘s third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, which was released in June.

The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 485,000 equivalent album units in its first week.

The upcoming collaboration will also be released in physical formats, including limited-edition 7-inch vinyl, CDs and cassettes, which are available for pre-order now.

The announcement comes just weeks after Chappell performed at Olivia‘s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields music festival in Irvine, California, on August 29.

The event featured a women-led lineup that also included Doechii, Mitski, Garbage, The Breeders and more.

The festival ultimately raised $20 million for organizations supporting women and girls.

Chappell previously opened for Olivia on select dates of her GUTS World Tour in 2024, and both artists have worked closely with Daniel throughout their careers.

The two singers have remained friends as their careers have continued to grow.
