Last week, Daniel Richtman revealed a rumor that Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 was in the works. Unfortunately, Star Wars fans may not get any more episodes of the Disney+ series, as a new scoop shoots down those rumors.

Per Jeff Sneider of The Insneider, Lucasfilm has “no plans” for a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Since its release, star Ewan McGregor has been hopeful that the show would return. McGregor previously suggested that Season 2 was still being “explored.” McGregor proposed playing a younger version of the character during the Clone Wars. The show could then bring back Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker, and explore new stories between the end of Obi-Wan Season 1 and the beginning of A New Hope.

16 years after last playing the Jedi Master, McGregor reprised his Star Wars role for the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. Following the events of Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan went into hiding on Tatooine to watch over Anakin Skywalker’s son, Luke. Obi-Wan ends his self-imposed exile to rescue Anakin’s daughter, Leia, who was kidnapped by the Galactic Empire’s Inquisitors. This culminates with a showdown against Anakin, who is now known as Darth Vader.

Besides McGregor and Christensen, Obi-Wan Kenobi starred Rupert Friend as the Grand Inquisitor, Sung Kang as the Fifth Brother, Moses Ingram as Reva Sevander, Vivien Lyra Blair as Leia Organa, Kumail Nanjiani as Haja Estree, Indira Varma as Tala Durith, and O’Shea Jackson Jr. as Kawlan Roken.

The six-episode series premiered in May 2022. The show received positive reviews and garnered an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Stream Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 1 on Disney+.
