Nick Jonas may be burnin’ up with embarrassment after an on-stage mishap.
While rehearsing with Adrienne Warren for their upcoming Broadway revival of The Last Five Years, the “Jealous” singer revealed his attempt at the choreography didn’t go according to plan and led to his pants ripping in front of the show’s cast and crew.
“I was singing ‘Moving Too Fast,’ one of my character Jamie’s songs,” Nick explained in a video posted to Instagram on March 4. “I’m supposed to jump onto this platform, and then pull my costar up onto the platform with me and keep singing.”
“I do it, and I hear a [split noise],” he continued. “And I’m like, ‘Oh no, oh no.’ Then I feel a cool breeze in a place you don’t want to feel a cool breeze.”
And before fans could visualize the torn trousers, Nick took the liberty of showing them off himself.
“This is what happened to my pants,” he said, presenting the garment with a long tear near that area. “They’re not tight pants by any means. It just was the perfect spot and the position that I jumped up.”
Adding insult to injury, the incident happened in front of the revival’s director, Whitey White, writer and composer Jason Robert Brown, and many others.
While the Jonas Brothers singer tried to quickly make repairs, the pants were much harder to fix than expected.
“I tried to duct tape it, it didn’t work,” Nick explained. “I tried to put some safety pins in, didn’t hold.”

As for what he had on the rest of rehearsals for the show, let's just say it was something much different from the long-baggy camo pants he was wearing before.
“Stage management department jumped over to Target,” he said. “And bought me some black shorts to finish rehearsals in.”
Despite the embarrassing mishap, the “Close” singer—who made his Broadway debut in 2001’s Annie Get Your Gun and last appeared onstage over ten years ago in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying—is thrilled to be returning to the great white way with the encouragement of his loved ones.

“My family will join me for some of this which will be nice,” he told E! News last month in a joint interview with Adrienne. “And obviously on opening night I think the brothers will come out, and my parents. Having that support is key, especially when you're doing a project that's as intense as this.”
And with both his and Adrienne’s characters going on an emotional journey every night—the musical chronicling their relationship as they fall in and out of love over five years—having a family nearby is crucial.
“It's nice to feel like when you go home,” Nick—who shares daughter Malti, 3, with Priyanka Chopra—explained, “you get to sit back on your couch and get those cuddles or whatever else you need to recharge.”
