A new Avatar: The Last Airbender series is on the way. Paramount+ just dropped the first teaser trailer and also revealed when fans can start watching. This 2D-animated series brings in a brand-new Avatar and shows a world that’s changed a lot since The Legend of Korra.

When is the new Avatar: The Last Airbender TV show being released?

Avatar: Seven Havens hits Paramount+ exclusively on October 9, 2026. Paramount announced the release date during the Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where they also showed the very first teaser trailer.

The original creators, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, are behind this new 2D-animated series. All 26 episodes will come out on the same day.

The story centers on Pavi, a young Earthbender who finds out she’s the next Avatar after Korra. But the world she inherits isn’t the same. A massive disaster shattered civilization, and now a lot of people think the Avatar is not the hero, but the destroyer of humanity.

With both humans and spirits after her, Pavi and her long-lost twin try to piece together their secret past and save the Seven Havens before these last safe places are gone for good.

Fans first heard about Pavi at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Konietzko also revealed her cat-monkey Geet, her Airbender mentor Jae, and the city of Allura, where they all live.

The voice cast features Saheli Khan as Pavi, Aishu Devan as Nisha, Akshay Khanna as Karthik, Major Curda as Jae, Sakina Jaffrey as Agam, Darren Barnet as Daemin, Dianne Doan as Zi, and Dee Bradley Baker as the voices of Geet and Ruhi.

Konietzko shared that Avatar: Seven Havens gives fans something fresh while still honoring the franchise. He said, “Something totally different. We like to change up the style. We like to make each project its own thing. As you can see, it still feels like Avatar, but the world is very different. You’ll have to tune in to find out why.”

The announcement arrives alongside the long-awaited animated feature Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, streaming globally on Paramount+ starting July 25, 2026.
