Focus Features’ unique Lego movie starring Justin Timberlake has officially found a new streaming home on Netflix. Beginning today, 2024’s animated biographical comedy film Piece by Piece is finally available to stream on Netflix.

What do we know about Justin Timberlake’s Piece by Piece movie?

Piece by Piece chronicles the life and career of Grammy-winning musician Pharrell Williams through Lego animation. In the 2024 film, Williams and Timberlake provided the voices for their respective Lego versions. The voice cast also included Neville, Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Timbaland, Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott, Tyler the Creator, Daft Punk, Teddy Riley, and more.

“The movie is an unparalleled motion picture experience that invites audiences on a vibrant journey through the life of cultural icon Pharrell Williams. Told through the lens of Lego animation, turn up the volume on your imagination and witness the evolution of one of music’s most innovative minds,” reads the synopsis.

Piece by Piece was directed by Neville, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jason Zeldes, Aaron Wickenden, and Oscar Vazquez. The biopic was produced by Williams, Neville, Caitrin Rogers, Mimi Valdés, and Joshua R. Wexler. Executive producers were James De Julio, Sanjee K. Gupta, David Lawrence, Keith Malone, Shani Saxon, Jill Wilfert, and Lesley Worton.

During its theatrical run, the film received positive reviews from critics. It is currently Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a Tomatometer rating of 83%. Meanwhile, its Popcornmeter score is slightly higher at 89%. Despite the good ratings, the movie still had a disappointing performance at the box office. It only grossed around $10.7 million worldwide against a budget of $16 million.
