Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayMegan Thee Stallion was hospitalized midway through last night’s performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway. She was diagnosed with “extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels,” her representatives told Variety. She has since been treated and discharged to rest, ahead of a planned return to the stage on Thursday. “Megan is incredibly grateful for the prayers and well-wishes from her supporters and is looking forward to resuming her role as Zidler,” the statement concluded.
On the night, the show continued with an understudy playing the role of Zidler, in which Megan debuted last week as the first female-identifying actor to play the character in the long-running Broadway show. Her hairstylist Kellon Deryck brought her illness to fans’ attention, posting on X, “Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital.”
The show is due to continue in an eight-week engagement at Al Hirshfeld Theatre.
Pitchfork has emailed representatives for Megan Thee Stallion and Moulin Rouge! The Musical for more details.
