Supplies needed to make a mason jar bird feeder

- Mason jar glass with handle
- Dowel rod
- 1 1/2 cups bird seed
- 1/2 package unflavored gelatin
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- Wire
How to make a mason jar bird feeder
- Boil 1/4 cup of water.
- Add the water to a bowl and then stir in 1/2 a package of unflavored gelatin. Mix well.
- Stir in corn syrup.
- Then, stir in flour until everything is combined.
- Add this mixture to the bird seed. Mix well. I find it easiest just to use my hands for this portion.
- Stuff the mixture down inside your mason jar. Add in your dowel rod and add the mixture around the rod.
- Continue until all of the mixture is in the jar, then press down well.
- Cut off a long piece of wire and then wrap both ends around the handle of the mason jar.
- Hang your mason jar bird feeder anywhere in your yard where you want to attract the birds.
