Upsetting news for fans of Marvel’s Wonder Man.

The show has just been canceled after only one season on Disney+. The series starred Yahya Abdul Mateen II and Ben Kingsley as Simon Williams and Trevor Slattery. X Mayo, Demetrius Grosse, Arian Moayed and Olivia Thirlby were all part of the cast as well. Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest created the series.

Wonder Man was canceled despite being renewed for a second season

You may recall that the show was actually previously renewed. About two months after it debuted in March of 2026, it was announced that the show had been renewed.

However, Variety is now reporting that “a writers’ room for Season 2 was never opened and the show’s writers have been released to pursue other projects.”

Just because Wonder Man is canceled, does not mean the characters are permanently done in the MCU

A source added to Variety that the “characters featured in the series could still appear in other Marvel projects in the future.”

It’s a big year for Marvel. Tomorrow, the new Spider-Man film, Brand New Day, hits theaters. In December, the star-studded Avengers: Doomsday is set to debut.
