Marshals biggest cliffhanger left two fan-favorite characters’ fates unknown until now. The Yellowstone spinoff’s stars broke their silence on who survived the Season 1 finale ambush and what lies ahead in Season 2.

Logan Marshall-Green and Arielle Kebbel confirm Marshals Season 2 return

Logan Marshall-Green and Arielle Kebbel have confirmed their return for Marshals Season 2.

Both actors spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about their characters’ fates after the Season 1 finale cliffhanger. The finale, titled “Wolves at the Door,” ended with their characters Cal and Belle ambushed by gunmen.

Marshall-Green confirmed Cal survived but faces lasting consequences. “I can confirm he is alive, but not necessarily unscathed,” he told the outlet. He also revealed Cal’s neck pain throughout Season 1 conceals a rare cancer linked to military burn pits. “Where we go with that story next is yet to be seen,” he added.

Kebbel confirmed her involvement in the new season as well. “We start filming [season two] with a pick up of that [finale] moment,” she said. She also teased darker storylines ahead for the Yellowstone spinoff. “I think people may be surprised to see just how bad it gets,” Kebbel shared.

The finale also revealed rancher Tom Weaver as the mastermind behind attacks on Broken Rock chairman Rainwater. Kayce Dutton remains unaware of the Weaver family’s betrayal heading into Season 2. His son Tate also left with Tom Weaver, placing both characters in danger.

Marshall-Green noted the Season 2 premiere will deliver major consequences for all characters. “The agenda behind them in regards to all of them is not going to be what you think,” he teased. He also revealed the cast completed extensive SEAL and weapons training before filming resumed. Kebbel added that she “gasped reading the first episode of season two.”

Both actors expressed excitement about the show’s fast turnaround from Season 1 to Season 2 production.
