Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayFlat River Group describes itself as an "ecommerce distribution partner", and it provides drop-shipping service for its clients to a wide range of retailers across North America. It got into the game publication business in December 2021 when it purchased Greater Than Games, which was followed in March 2022 by the purchase of distributor/publisher Luma Imports and publisher Synapses Games.
In addition to owning those companies, FRG developed itself into a company that would partner with non-North American game publishers such as IELLO, Horrible Guild, and Sit Down! to assist with the marketing, production, and distribution of those publishers' titles in North America.
As of July 2025, that part of FRG's business is over, with former VP of hobby distribution and business development Jules Vautour, assistant director of hobby distribution Colin Young, and Danni Loe leaving FRG to launch a new distribution company in collaboration with ACD Distribution owners Bob Maher and Danny Procell. The name of that company? Luma Imports. Yes, the former brand has returned, which is perhaps not surprising given that Jules Vautour had founded Luma and was still company president at the time of its purchase by FRG.
Here's an excerpt from the press release announcing this arrangement:
This new venture, reviving the Luma Imports brand, will operate under the ACD umbrella, providing publishers an alternate on-ramp into U.S. hobby games distribution. The sales and marketing services that Vautour, Young, and Loe offered publishers at FRG will continue, collaborating with FRG for support on ecommerce channels, to ensure success for current partners.
"ACD has worked hand-in-hand with Flat River Group for years, and we've experienced firsthand the talent of their hobby division. We're thrilled to welcome Jules, Colin, and Danni into the ACD team and expand the services we provide to publishers, retailers, and the industry itself through Luma," says Bob Maher, President of ACD Distribution.
In addition to domestic operations, Luma Imports will promote and distribute games internationally, providing the same high level of service, marketing, and support that publishers have come to expect. Its mission remains consistent with the work previously undertaken at Flat River Group: empowering publishers, expanding access, and fueling success in the tabletop industry.
"I'm very excited we were able to help make this happen for our hobby team. I expect this to grow hobby sales for Luma vendor partners while Flat River Group continues to provide world-class distribution for the brands in the mass retail ecommerce and brick-and-mortar space. We will continue to work closely with Luma and ACD going forward," says Matt Stahlin, CEO of Flat River Group.
As Director of Luma, Vautour will lead business development, scouting new partnership opportunities and services to offer publishers. Young will operate in tandem, handling global distributor relationships and liaising with FRG for ecommerce support. Loe will lead the marketing team for ACD as a whole, including established programs such as Meeple Monthly and ACD Expo, in addition to direct-to-consumer efforts through Luma Imports.

ACD Distribution also acquired Canadian publisher Synapses Games from Flat River Group, with founder Carl Brière remaining in charge of the company and with a new edition of Hisashi Hayashi's Yokohama Duel still being released in 2025 as originally planned.
Flat River Group had cancelled its booth for Gen Con 2025 in late April, but both Luma Imports and Synapses Games will have a space at the show — #3039, which is about the farthest booth possible from the main doors of the exhibit hall. As for what will be for sale at Gen Con 2025, the press release concludes: "Further details about the Luma Imports structure, Synapses operations, and publisher partnerships will be shared in the coming weeks."
