Netflix subscribers will no longer be able to stream a 2019 action movie starring Liam Neeson next month. Unlike most of Neeson’s serious revenge thrillers, this movie blends dark comedy with an unconventional retribution story.

Cold Pursuit leaves Netflix in June

Cold Pursuit will exit Netflix’s content library on Monday, June 1, 2026 (via What’s on Netflix).

Initially titled Hard Powder, the movie was later renamed Cold Pursuit. It is the official remake of the 2014 Norwegian movie In Order of Disappearance (original title: Kraftidioten), written by Kim Fupz Aakeson. The Norwegian filmmaker Hans Petter Moland directed both movies, while Frank Baldwin wrote the screenplay for the remake.

Cold Pursuit centers on Nels Coxman, a snowplow driver at a ski resort in the fictional town of Kehoe, Colorado. His life takes a dramatic turn after his son dies as a result of a forced heroin overdose by the local drug cartel. He manages to kill three members of the drug gang. But it causes a misunderstanding and leads to an all-out war between two rival drug gangs.

The movie’s cast features Liam Neeson as Nels, Laura Dern as Grace, Tom Bateman as Viking, Tom Jackson as White Bull, Emmy Rossum as Kim Dash, and Domenick Lombardozzi as Mustang, among others.

Cold Pursuit was scheduled for a premiere on February 5, 2019. However, it was canceled just a few hours earlier due to the Taken star’s controversial remarks after a close friend had been sexually assaulted.

The movie later arrived in theaters worldwide on February 8, 2019, and received a mixed reception. Nearly 190 critics gave it an average score of 68% on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, users gave it a much lower score of 44%. At the box office, Cold Pursuit made roughly $76.4 million against a $60 million budget (via Box Office Mojo).
