Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayDC Studios‘ highly anticipated DC Universe series, Lanterns, has received a brand new update about one of its main characters, Hal Jordan. At the moment, production is currently underway and is slated for a 2026 premiere on HBO.
“The series follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland,” reads the official logline.
What are the new Lanterns plot details?
Lanterns will reportedly explore Hal Jordan’s childhood through flashbacks. The casting search for the characters’ parents, Martin and Jessica Jordan, is still underway, as is the search for the child version of Hal. The show will also feature Martin’s death and how it affected Hal as a child.
Listed below are the character descriptions for Hal’s parents and kid version (via Nexus Point News):
- Martin Jordan — Handsome, confident, charming, but hides a deep sadness. Similar to the comics, he’s a pilot and hero to young Hal, who he has a very close relationship to.
- Jessica Jordan — Jessica is emotionless after the death of her husband, and is being cast for a funeral scene.
- Kid Hal — Defiant, spirited, brave, and a rule breaker who follows in his father’s footsteps.
The ensemble cast includes Aaron Pierre as John Stewart and Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan. Kelly MacDonald as Kerry, Garret Dillahunt as William Macon, Poorna Jagannathan as Zoe, Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro, Chris Coy as Waylon Sanders, Jasmine Cephas Jones as young Bernadette, Sherman Augustus as John Sr., J. Alphonse Nicholson as a young John Sr., Jason Ritter as Billy Macon, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Nicole Ari Parker as Bernadette, Sherman Augustus as John Sr. and more. Before the HBO show, Fillion’s Green Lantern will first appear in James Gunn’s Superman movie.
Lanterns is executive produced by showrunner Chris Mundy (True Detective: Night Country, Ozark), Damon Lindelof (The Leftovers, Watchmen), and Tom King (Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow), with the latter two also co-writing the series. The directing line-up consists of James Hawes, Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov.
