[unpaid/sample] Eye sticks are everywhere and most of them cost far more than these beauties from L’Oreal Paris, which at £9.99, seem very reasonable indeed. I love an eye stick for effort free lids although there is always something of an on-going battle to make the colours stay put on which is a naturally oily area.

As you can see, they’re all fairly neural, bar the pink shade (gorgeous, by the way) and come in a mix of shimmer and matte. My magpie eyes always fall on the sparkle of shimmer shades so as well as running you through an arm swatch of all the colours, I’ve tried four of them on my lids.

The shades from left to right are: Brown Abyss, Ice Sparkle, Twinkly Rose, Foiled Copper, Alluring Rose, Magnetic Mauve, Metallic Bronze, Cloudy Rose, Magnetic Bronze and Mesmerising Gold.

And from bottom to top in the swatch: Brown Abyss, Ice Sparkle, Twinkly Rose, Foiled Copper, Alluring Rose, Magnetic Mauve, Metallic Bronze, Cloudy Rose, Magnetic Bronze and Mesmerising Gold. They’re so good with plenty of pigment – they’re apparently smudge proof and transfer proof. A quick swipe with my finger across my coloured lids and with the product completely dry shows that to be true – it’s not coming off onto my finger tip.

In this picture, I’m wearing Metallic Bronze (left) and Foiled Copper (right). To be honest, I’m not keen on Foiled Copper – I don’t have the right tone for it but I’d love to see it on deeper tones that can do it justice.

In this picture, I’m wearing Ice Sparkle and Cloudy Rose. I love both of them. If you know you have oily lids, it’s best to apply a lid primer. There is a little bit of product shrinkage which won’t matter a bit if you have the lids of a twenty year old, but shrinkage does tend to exacerbate fine lines. I don’t really care about that – I’m more interested in the colour but if you do, be aware. I mean, it’s minute shrinkage but it’s there.  You might want to blend with a brush (I haven’t) after application but do be quick because the colours set quite quickly. I found the last excellent – I had five solid hours of complete coverage until I removed the colours. You can find the full range HERE.
