Fans are wondering if Kanye West is actually banned from Australia. As per reports, the rapper is facing a ban due to a recent song release that allegedly contains problematic lyrics.

Here’s everything we know about the rapper’s ban.

Kanye West’s Australia visa revoked over ‘Heil Hitler’ song

Kanye West’s contentious WW3 song, “Heil Hitler,” has led to his ban from Australia. The song that apparently carries certain Nazi-sympathetic notions sparked global criticism for the Grammy-winning hip-hop star. Now the Australian authority has revealed why they banned West’s entry to the country.

As per Australia’s home affairs minister, Tony Burke, Ye’s valid visa was cancelled after he released the song “Heil Hitler” in May. Burke detailed why West’s visa faced cancelation at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (via BBC).

The minister explained, “If someone argued that anti-Semitism was rational, I would not let them come here.” He added, “[West] has been coming to Australia for a long time… and he’s made a lot of offensive comments.”

For the Australian authorities, the “Heil Hitler” song was the last straw. Burke admitted, “My officials looked at it again once he released the Heil Hitler song, and he no longer has a valid visa in Australia.”

The permanence of West’s exclusion from Australia remains unclear. Burke noted that visa applications undergo individual assessment each time they’re submitted, following standard Australian immigration procedures.

While going in depth about why West’s ban from Australia was important, the minister stated, “I think that what’s not sustainable is to import hatred… We have enough problems in this country already without deliberately importing bigotry.”

The former husband of Kim Kardashian has faced criticism from Australian authorities before. The education minister of the country, Jason Clare, had bashed West’s infamous remarks about Hitler and the Holocaust, indicating he could face entry denial.

Meanwhile, West had mostly seemed unfazed by the backlash he received regarding his songs that glorify the German leader. In an X (formerly Twitter) post, the singer reportedly revealed that “there’s an issue” with performing his new song on stage. He assured his fans that he would still perform the song at “all” his “shows.”
