Justin Baldoni has sent an official letter to Disney asking to hold onto documents related to the development of a Deadpool & Wolverine character. He has reportedly accused Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively’s husband, of bullying him by using his Deadpool variant, Nicepool. Thus, to gather evidence and address Lively’s allegations of sexual assault and retaliation, Baldoni’s legal team is asking the studios to send all documents concerning the character.

On January 7, Justin Baldoni’s legal team sent Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, and Disney CEO Bob Iger, a litigation hold letter, requesting documents related to the creation of Nicepool’s character, any potential communication, and storyline.

This request comes in the wake of Blake Lively’s sexual assault allegations against her It Ends With Us co-star. As part of his legal battle, they want the studios to hold on to records that reference Baldoni to substantiate their claims that Nicepool was used “to bully” the director.

People reported that the legal letter demanded “any and all documents relating to the development of the Nicepool character” and “communications relating to the development, writing, and filming of storylines and scenes featuring Nicepool.”

For the unversed, Deadpool & Wolverine, starring Reynolds, featured multiple variants of its lead characters, one of them being Nicepool. He was initially a mercenary who was banished into the void. There, he spent his life with different Deadpool variants and also had a pet called Dogpool.

Compared to the original Deadpool, who is funny, sarcastic, and vulgar, at times, the Nicepool stays true to his name: he is sweet and kind-hearted. His nice personality landed him in trouble when Deadpool used him as a shield to safeguard himself, leading to his demise.
